It has been said that the difference between clutter and a room or house that looks like a hurricane just passed through is organization. In a recent talk show, awards were actually given to the people with the most cluttered house and there was a woman whose house was so cluttered the household goods rose up to the roof! She off course won the offer to have a cleaning company come out and rearrange her whole home. She had many years worth of clutter. Many of us are in not in this kind of dire station but we nevertheless need help when it comes to cleanliness. Most people simply give up and are overwhelmed by a sense of hopelessness when they see what it will take to completely route the clutter and get a room that looks organized. But what many fail to realize is that it things are not that bad. The key is proper filing and storage of the clutter that you have. One of the best ways to store your items and get organized is to get storage cubes. These are boxes that can be made of plastic, polyester or wood and can be carefully placed or fitted in various parts of the house.
Cubes are very essential because many people struggle with clutters. While there are many items that can be classified as clutter, not all of them are trash. Contrary to what casual observers may think, some of the papers and other items are actually important and just need to be filed and stored well. Think about a teenager’s room. There are magazines, clothes, CDs and even food wrappers. While some may really be trash and needs to find its way into the trash bin, it would be unthinkable to tell the teen to throw away his or her CDs. This would be inviting an argument of some sort. Instead, the best thing would be to look for a system that can store the stuff away safely without necessarily losing anything. This for most people would solve the issue of trash and clutter.
Homes and teenagers’ rooms are not the only places that struggle with clutter. Offices have this problem as well and for some, it can translate to loss of productivity. It is stated that clutter and lack of proper organization can cost a business up to 40% on lost productivity. This is because it takes longer to look for important paperwork. Storage cubes can supplement filing cabinets in offices and be the solution to excessive clutter and trash. Offices which are well organized run well and are more efficient. They also create a better work environment which not only causes the staff and employees to work better, but also for the upper management to help the business grow. Clutter also causes the management to think that the office is being run in a sloppy manner. Proper filing and storage is the way to go when it comes to getting rid of clutter.
